The lakefront lodge gave designer, Jesse Sahlani, a unique design opportunity to create two juxtaposing building facades for the facade design. The front, a transitional exterior that gives a timeless yet contemporary nod to the farmhouse style, while the rear facade offers a modern rendition of a lodge. The contemporary front facade utilizes a unique combination of a rustic grey stone and vertical siding, and intentional window mullion proportions, while the rear facade notably features floor to ceiling chalet style windows that provide unobstructed views of the lake, as well as heavy timber features that add a rustic character to the exterior entertainment spaces.
Inside, the same blend of contemporary classic lodge style is seen throughout the home with the use of heavy timber and vaulted ceilings clad with cedar. The result is a timeless lakefront home that creates the ultimate spa-esque experience for our clients and their guests. The experience includes a large entertaining kitchen and full height great room that can accommodate up to 20 guests, four bedrooms, a steam sauna, a dry sauna, a cold plunge pool, and a theater room. The two storey porch that has direct access to both the theater room and full height great room supports three season entertainment through the inclusion of an exterior fireplace and kitchen that can be enclosed and heated.
In classic lakefront fashion, our exterior design plans also extend to the exterior decks, dock, boat lift, and floating swim up tanning bed. Designing around features like this naturally shapes the way a family interacts with natural surroundings. To further this notion, two outdoor entertainment areas that include lighting, outdoor TV’s, a full exterior audio system that links to the interior speakers, and charging stations were included!
