Our firm’s focus is always on creativity within every aspect of our work, and in that spirit, Jesse has developed a truly unique Contemporary Mid-Century Revival home that pushes the boundaries of the common materials and palettes commonly seen within the Ontario custom home design community. Most notably, Jesse utilized an earthy palette for his latest work that includes an incredibly unique horizontally fluted limestone material, wood screen wall garage door, and custom stained pine soffits. This combination of earthy tones, natural materials, and unusual textures is a great example of how material selections that work harmoniously together vastly change the character of the home. Designs of this nature require the designer to approach the home as a sculpture or a piece of art, forgetting about the limitations of suppliers, and focusing on the exaggeration of proportions in every category of the design process until a timeless home is born. This design was also created through the lens of the experience of a visitor walking up to the front door for the first time. It was this viewpoint that prompted Jesse to create a floor to ceiling corner window overlooking the front porch area from the sitting room. Imposing features like this serve to set the tone for the architectural experience that is to come upon entry.
The interior design plan for this home offers another direct connection to the earthy palette mentioned, as Jesse employed the use of white oak wall paneling throughout the space. In his usual fashion he has designed the interior with the connection to the exterior in mind, opting to create an open concept floorplan that creates an undeniably enjoyable indoor/outdoor connection. The backyard landscaping plan will be released in the coming weeks and will feature a pool, a covered loggia featuring an outdoor kitchen and dining room, as well as a tanning lounge. We cant wait to show off more of this unique custom home!
