Furnishing is integral to Sensus Design Studios' creative process in developing a cohesively luxurious environment. Our approach transcends mere decoration; it's about infusing spaces with a rich tapestry of colors, textures, and forms that results in an experiential sense of curation no matter what room you reside in. By understanding your lifestyle, preferences, and practical needs, we tailor every detail to reflect your individuality.
Our furnishing services are led by our Lead Curator, Melissa Ho, who works in lockstep with Jesse Sahlani to guide you in discovering your personal style while meticulously crafting complimentary and captivating focal points for the space that Jesse so carefully master plans. There is no stone we leave unturned in finding the pieces that strike the right personal, aesthetic, and ambient note. Our process includes a wide range of collaborations with bespoke furniture studios from across the globe and includes the purchasing, storing, and styling of pieces in advance of your move-in day.
The functional role of this design discipline within the context of Jesse’s process is multi-faceted. It starts with the idea that the proportions of the pieces being selected should be attuned to the interior proportions and scale of each space. It also creates an opportunity to perfect the flow of each space, respecting the intended sizes of walkways and the proximity of each item in relation to one another. Through this process, we perfect the orientation of each piece within the space to ensure the indoor-outdoor connection is optimized while maintaining a sprawling feel within the layout itself. And of course, it significantly contributes to the character and environment you experience in each space.
Once the process of selecting and curating is complete, we use 3D renderings to provide you with a clear preview of each space and environment well before construction ends. From furniture to decor, linens to art, we handle every aspect, ensuring a turn-key experience for the day you first step foot in your new home.
PhaseOne
DESIGN
EXPLORATION
In the early phases of the design process, Jesse holds an “intake and exploration” meeting, where we sit down with our clients to explore their desired environment that will be experienced throughout the property. It is through this approach that Jesse is able to tailor his design to the lifestyle, hobbies, and entertaining habits of our clients, intuitively blending the functional and aesthetic vision until the design plans perfectly support the intended use. In this last phase of the design process, you will work directly with Melissa Ho to explore your design aesthetic, but this time with what you know now in mind. We will look at design inspiration images, images you cherish, as well as a range of different stylistic directions that can be successfully developed alongside Jesse’s interior design vision.

INSPIRATION BOARDS &
DESIGN DIRECTION
DETERMINATION
At our next meeting we will review inspiration boards outlining collections of different furniture pieces that we believe support one of two design directions that we could take with the space at hand. By reviewing these and understanding how to create an authentic rendition of them, we are able to narrow down what supports your desired environment in every room of your home, depending on the intended use.

FURNITURE, ART,
SCULPTURE & DECOR
SELECTIONS
At this phase, we are providing you with our best recommendations for interior furniture, art, sculptures, and other decor pieces based on the desired stylistic direction, room by room. Once a concise list of pieces we are confident in has been assembled, we render each piece into the room at hand to offer a realistic understanding of the end aesthetic. This aids in the process of determining the flow, feel, and scale of each space. It is during this phase that we will determine if custom pieces are required and for what areas.
Art selections define each space we create. It is the part of the process where we can truly attune the body of work to truly reflect your personality, as there is nothing more candidly honest representation of a person’s style than the art they display. As Jesse always says, the perfect decor always includes an eclectic mix of sculpture and art pieces.

COMMISSIONING,
PURCHASING & STORAGE
Once we have our selections determined, we move onto the purchasing phase of the process. In a world of extended production times we ensure that we get ahead of the rush and take delivery of items as they become available, store them, and prepare for the completion of your new home. During this phase, we will also ensure that the custom pieces required for the home are developed and commissioned. We offer storage solutions for our clients to ensure that there is a seamless process in place.

INSTALLATION
DAY
Once your home is move-in ready, we will have all purchased items delivered and professionally staged before your move. This gives our team a chance to ensure that we can properly lay out each space and correctly place each piece. This gives you the comfort of knowing that you will be moving into a curated space that is ready for living. This phase includes side tables, plants, decor, drapery, art and sculptures, linens, and cutlery.
